Tahukah anda yang Mattel pada  tahun 1999, Mattel pernah mengeluarkan Kebaya Barbie di bawah Songket Series secara exclusive untuk pasaran Malaysia

 

 Dan pada tahun sebelumnya iaitu pada tahun 1998, Mattel mengeluarkan Barbie Edisi Khas iaitu Malaysian Barbie sebagai 'doorgift' kepada delegasi-delegasi APEC yang diadakan di Kuala Lumpur pada tahun tersebut. Barbie Edisi Khas ini bukan untuk pasaran umum kerana ianya diberikan secara percuma kepada delegasi-delegasi APEC 1998. Jika you guys dapat beli ianya boleh dikatakan 'rare' jugak lah.

 

 

 

 

Di Malaysia, pengumpul anak patung termasuk Barbie terbanyak yang diiktiraf Malaysia Book of Records adalah Elizabeth Chrysotom dari Petaling Jaya. Beliau telah mengumpul sebanyak lebih 1,000 koleksi anak patung termasuk Barbie dan Sindy dan diberi julukan 'Ratu Barbie Malaysia'. 

  

Minatnya untuk mengumpul anak patung bermula seawal usia 7 tahun ianya bermula pada 1965 apabila kakak Elizabeth menghadiahkan anak patung yang dibeli di luar negara kepada Elizabeth. Percaya atau tak, anak patung pertama yang dihadiahkan oleh kakaknya masih elok dan disimpan sebagai salah satu koleksinya.
